Lessons at Bretts Driving School are tailored to meet each individual pupils needs.

Assessment lessons.

• Available for the complete beginner. This allows the pupil to “get a feel” for the car and my teaching methods, it also gives me the opportunity to gauge how many hours the pupil will take to become test standard.

Driving Lessons.

• These can vary in duration from 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes and even 150 minutes! Most pupils find  2 hour lessons helpful at the beginning of their course, allowing them to progress quickly through the initial phases of the syllabus.
• All driving lessons are conducted in a courteous, professional, friendly and relaxed manner ( I do not shout or get stressed!) which puts all my pupils at ease.
• Lessons are strictly on a one to one basis, ensuring all my attention is focussed on you and your driving lesson. The lessons follow the DSA (Driving Standards Agency) “safe driving for life” syllabus and I utilise modern learning techniques and tools.

• Pick up/ Drop off can be home, school, work, college or anywhere (within reason) to suit your needs.

Motorway Lessons.

• Learn how to join and leave motorways safely.
• Gain confidence on Britain’s fastest road network.
• Merge safely from one motorway to another – enhancing your navigational skills as you go!
• Discover what to do in the event of an accident, breakdown or any emergency situation.
• Minimum lesson duration is 2 hours.

Refresher lessons.

Not been behind the wheel for a while? Confidence taken a knock? Parallel Park / Bay Park not up to scratch? Whatever the reason, you will benefit from refresher lessons taken at Bretts Driving School, run in the same professional, patient, friendly manner as always.

Please note a minimum 48 hours notice is required to cancel or change your lesson. This allows me to reschedule my diary and means I don’t have to charge you.

Prices

Please don’t confuse cheap with value for money. The two are completely separate. I have had lots of pupils that have left other schools, disillusioned with lack of progress, bad attitude of instructor, unreliability etc, and almost in a state of panic they decide to “give Brett a go” even though I may charge a little more.

It’s worth noting – I may actually work out cheaper in the long term, 44 lessons at £23 per hour is less than 50 lessons at £20 per hour. Bottom line? I don’t do cheap. I give good value for money.

Assessment Lesson.

• First lesson is £10 for complete beginners.

Driving lessons.

• 1 hour lesson is    £23.
• 1.5 hour lesson is £34.50.
• 2 hour lesson is   £46.
• 2.5 hour lesson is £57.50 ( this is usually Chesterfield – Buxton return).

Motorway lessons.

• A minimum 2 hours duration at £25 per hour.

Pass Plus.

• 6 hour course at £25 per hour, payable in full and in advance.

Refresher lessons.

• Charged as per driving lessons above – £23 per hour.

Block Booking Discounts (to be paid fully and in advance).

• Book 10 hours of lessons and pay £220.

• Book 20 hours of lessons and pay £425.
• Book 30 hours of lessons and pay £630.
• If the test is passed before all the hours are used a complete and prompt refund is given.

Online discount.

• Book lessons on this website, or by phone, e mail and mention the website to claim 70 minutes for the price of 60 for the first 6 lessons.

Introduce a friend.

• If a friend you have introduced takes up lessons at Bretts Driving School you can claim 60 minutes free. There is no limit to the number of friends you can introduce!
